I'm so glad that you're here.

Hey y’all!
My name is Trey. I occupy the intersection of fried fish / porch sitting / Fantasia’s barefoot antics / communalism / anti-carceral, anti-capitalist politics and doing the chicken-head to every song like it’s still 2001. I am Black and Southern as the day is long. I've been writing stories for as long as I can remember, and published my first blog, "Treyning Day," back in 2011. I started collecting vinyl in 2014, and in October of 2024, I began learning how to DJ--a long-held dream of mine.
In 2021, I created The Green Room, my personal sanctuary space full of low maintenance houseplants and all the vinyl records I've accumulated over the years. I began inviting others into my space via my instagram in hopes of inspiring folks to create their own sanctuary space, a place where they can feel safe, rested, recharged and creative. But in 2023, following the latest iteration of the genocide in Gaza, I decided to quit content creation and redirected my time, energy and resources toward storytelling. I write stories from the margins about then margins, the Black Queer South specifically. My focus is grief, community, conflict, and the power of imagination.
I also DJ! I go by the name DJ Aunt Trey the ENTREE. I mix and perform alongside my housemates: DJ Kiyalita the Snack and Kit-Kat the MAÎTRE D'!
Together, we are Vibe Haus Entertainment.
It's nice to meet you! If it sounds like we are in alignment, and you would like to work together, let's collaborate!
